Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
The church sometimes has locked itself up in small things, in small-minded rules. The most important thing is the first proclamation: Jesus Christ has saved you. ~Pope Francis
Through the darkness and cold of winter, the days are now becoming longer. As a church, we are back into Ordinary Time, and the routine and business of education continues. Our high school students wrapped up Semester 1 by writing course finalizations, and we pray for continued success for all our high school students as classes begin for Semester 2.
This month bring us French Second Language Education Week February 4-8; and we celebrate with our eight French Immersion schools. French Immersion is a wonderful choice for our families and this program is growing quickly. February 11-15 is Staff/Teacher Appreciation Week. We will take time to pray for each employee of the Regina Catholic School Division. The contribution of each person is what creates the success of the many; as a Board, we are eternally grateful to all our staff members who go above and beyond the call of duty each day. Those two weeks of recognition are followed with a nice break. There is no school for staff or students from February 16-24. Enjoy your time together as a family. Red Cross Pink Day is February 27. We will celebrate with prayer, and activities to remind students what we practice every day: acceptance, tolerance, and love.
Jesus said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men." Then they left their nets and followed him. ~Mark 1:17-18
Thank you, parents and guardians, for choosing Catholic education for your children. Together, we will continue to ensure we promote and protect this gift of Catholic education in our province.
