When Jesus had received the wine, he said, "It is finished." Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. John 19:30

We entered Holy Week during what has undoubtedly been one of the most challenging months in many of our lives. Things will get better. In the meantime, we follow directions from the Response Planning Team, Chief Medical Officer, the Government of Saskatchewan and prayer.

As a school division, we hope you're enjoying the reconnection of teachers and students this week, and finding the supplemental learning plan helpful. While we adjust to this different delivery model, let us adjust our mindset and remain positive. We are not stuck at home; we get to stay safe in our homes. We are not sick; we get to make sure that we remain healthy and protect our families. We are not socially distant, though we are practicing good social distancing. We are finding new ways to connect with friends, colleagues and loved ones from the security of our homes.

We will get through this together.

We have good people who are prioritizing our safety leading us through this uncertainty. All emotional reactions are valid and acceptable. Know you are not alone, and there is help.

As we approach the Easter Triduum, we are reminded that in the midst of this scare, a bright light is shining in the resurrection of our Saviour Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. It is in that light that we rest our hope and knowledge that God is walking with us in this journey of managing the pandemic.

Masses will be online via livestream this year for Holy Week. We encourage all to join in this special time to celebrate together. You can view the livestreamed events by clicking here.

Mother Teresa, now a saint, once said, "What can you do to promote world peace? Go home and love your family." Today we are asked to stay home and love our families. As you do this, we pray for your continued health and safety and wish you all a Happy Easter.
