Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
We approach November and Remembrance Day with appreciation and gratitude. We keep in our hearts and prayers this month all those who have sacrificed for our freedom. It is because of the sacrifices of others that we have so many blessings.
This month also brings progress reports, followed by student-involved conferences. These three way conferences are a great opportunity for parents, students and teachers to discuss their child(ren)'s progress and to create a plan going forward. We encourage all families to take advantage of this very important opportunity to be involved in their child(ren)'s education. Research has shown team work between home and school often leads to success for the child.
We will also meet this month with representatives from all 32 of our Catholic School Community Councils (CSCC). At the CSCC meeting on Thursday, November 16, 2017, we will meet in the gymnasium at Holy Rosary Community School. Following that meeting, we invite all parents and care givers to the Gratton Room for a presentation by our guest speaker, Melissa Mikel. Melissa will lead us in a workshop, "Equity Head to Toe" which is about helping families support children at home in a changing world. We will participate in activities to help create cultural responsiveness, and we encourage all who are available to attend.
Our schools are always busy. Please check your school's website calendar regularly to stay up to date.
Some important dates include:
November 10 – School Holiday for all students
November 11 – Remembrance Day
