Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
As the days get longer, we can sense the promise of spring. As Christians, we are hope-filled people. It is the hope that the cold winter weather breaks to allow our families and children to enjoy the outdoors. As a Church, we look forward to Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent this month.
"May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Lent is a time of repentance, fasting and preparation. As we head toward the Easter season, we have an opportunity for reflection. We think about the gift of Catholic education, and see ways to celebrate the gift we have. We pray that this gift is protected, and that all who seek a faith-based Catholic education can find a place in our schools.
"Prayer is never in vain: it always brings forth something new that, sooner or later, bears fruit. ~Pope Francis
This year will bring new celebrations of Catholic education, including a Catholic Education Matters Gala to be held on May 4, Moving in Faith on May 26, and Catholic Education Week, which begins May 26 as well. We look forward to sharing more details about these events with you.
Please note that students do not have classes on March 15. Our teachers will have a professional development day of learning so that we can continue to provide the best possible education for your children.
