Many of our students will be performing solos and ensembles at Band Days. Over 900 students from the Regina Catholic School System will perform at this annual festival. Students received their performance times and detailed information on Monday, April 9 (yellow double-sided information letter in students’ band folders). Students not performing at the festival should continue to practice at home daily and work on their books and new music. For those performing solos and ensembles, all performances are at LeBoldus High School and students are asked to arrive at LeBoldus 30 minutes before their performance time. Parents are responsible for getting students to and from LeBoldus. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Beisel at email@example.com Good luck to our band students!
Some of our Grade 7/8 band students were invited to participate in the Band Days Gr. 7/8 Select Band. This band rehearses only 5 times and then puts on a performance at the end of the festival. The Band Days Grand Awards Concert is on Saturday, April 21, 7:00 pm, in the LeBoldus Gym. This concert will feature the Gr. 7/8 Select Band, the High School Honour Band, and awards presentations. While many of our students are not performing at this concert, everyone is invited and can choose to attend if they are able. Refreshments will be served after this concert.
Optimist Band Festival
Congratulations to our band students on their great performances at the Optimist Festival at the Conexus Arts Centre in March. We are so proud of your hard work and dedication. Both the LeBoldus Area Grade 6 Band and Grade 7/8 Band received 3 gold ratings and Superior Performance plaques. The Grade 7/8 Band also received an invitation to MusicFest Canada in Toronto. While they are unable to participate, the students are pleased to receive this honour!
The LeBoldus Area Gr. 6 and Gr. 7/8 Bands will be performing a concert in the LeBoldus Gym on Sunday, May 28, 4:30 pm. More details will be given to students at the beginning of May.
