Congrats to our band students!

Band:  We would like to acknowledge all the hard work and dedication of our band students this year.  In April, we had many Deshaye students perform solos and ensembles at our 42nd Annual Band Days Festival at LeBoldus.  Congratulations to the following students who received honourable mentions at Band Days:

Congratulations to our students who were chosen to be part of the Band Days Select Gr. 7/8 Band.  These students rehearsed a few times together with other band students in our school system, then had a great performance at the Grand Awards Concert to close off a wonderful week of Band Days :    Angel D., Denice R., Lara A., Joe S., Selwyn A., Michael H.

Band:  Congratulations to our band students on their final performances of the year.  The Gr. 7/8 band performed a concert at St. Pius on May 26.  The Gr. 6 and Gr. 7/8 band and the Regina Catholic Jr. Jazz Band performed at the LeBoldus Area Elementary Band Concert on May 28.  The Gr. 6 band performed concerts at Deshaye Catholic and St. Matthew on May 30.  It was a very successful year for our bands and the students showed great improvement since September. 


Candadian Band Association Distinguished Musician Award:  At our spring concert, Deshaye Catholic students Jenna P.  (gr. 6) and Selwn A. (gr. 7). received Canadian Band Association Distinguished Musician Certificates.  This award is presented to a band member who, in the opinion of their band director, has shown superior musicianship, leadership, dependability, loyalty and cooperation. Congratulations, Jenna and Selwyn!


Band Camp:  The Saskatchewan Band Association offers a fun and educational band camp for a week this summer at the U of R.  Students are encouraged to consider taking part in this great opportunity.  Please contact Ms. Beisel if you have questions.
