A Voice for Animals Contest (multiple awards)
Students who have a passion for animal rights are encouraged to look at the criteria for this contest.
Application period is usually January to March (annually).
Aboriginal Arts & Stories
Create a writing or art piece that explores a moment or theme in Aboriginal history or culture. A 200-400 word Artist’s or Author’s Statement that explains how
your piece reflects or interprets the moment or theme you selected must accompany your entry into the Aboriginal Arts & Stories competition.
Application deadline is March 31, 2018.
Affinity Credit Union (Elwood Harvey Scholarship)
This is a scholarship available for students in grade 11. Two awards of $2500 will be given to the chosen applicants based on academics, as well as school and community involvement.
Applications are due by May 1, 2018.
Ayn Rand Novels
The Ayn Rand Institute sponsors annual essay contests that offer 600 prizes and $100,000 in prize money every year.
Essay contest details are available after students create and account. Applications deadline is May 1, 2018.
B. Davis Scholarship
Available to all high school students. This is not an academic scholarship but we would like to know where you are going to school now and what your future academic plans are. To apply for this scholarship students need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on a specific topic.
Application deadline is May 22, 2018.
Dalton Camp Award
This is an essay competition on the link between democracy and the media in Canada.
Application deadline is December 1, 2017.
This competition promotes the study and awareness of all design disciplines in schools across Canada and is open to all high school students at junior (grades 9 and 10) and senior (grades 11 and 12) levels.
Application deadline is May 30, 2016.
Father Ted Colleton Scholarship
Three prizes: $1500 first prize, $800 second prize and $500 third prize. Applicants are required to write an essay based on an issue (topic changes annually).
Application deadline is December 1, 2017. This scholarship is available for grade 11 and 12 students.
Government of Canada History Awards
The Govenment of Canada History Awards for Students consists of a national essay writing competition with up to $225,000 in prizes available. Student in Grades 10 and 11 are invited to answer one of the five challenging essay questions about Canadian history.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall Scholarship
(up to 20 scholarships of $1000 each)
These are awarded annually to qualified nominees currently registered in Grade 11 at a Saskatchewan high school. Recipients are evaluated based on the following: leadership, responsibilities out of school, financial support needed, and academic performance.
Application must be accompanied with a letter of recommendation from the school.
The Beaverbrook Vimy Prize
Win a scholarship to study abroad for free next summer. Relive history and learn about how Canada became the great nation it is today by visiting First and Second World War battlefields, historic sites and memorials. To win: you must be 15-17 years of age and submit an essay or project that is based on a question posted on the Vimy Foundation website.
