Advent is a season for us to point others toward the Light of Christ in the things we say, what we do, how we decorate, what gifts we buy, where we worship, what songs we sing and who we spend our time with. We are to be heralds of the Light and spreaders of the good news, of great joy, which shall be to all people: Unto you is born a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
During this advent season, we look to the four candles of the advent wreath to remind us of the Hope, Love, Joy and Peace that we experience as we wait for the birth of our savior Jesus. During the first week of advent, we are reminded of the Hope. We are hopeful that each of our students finds the spirit of Christmas in their words and actions. That they treat each other with kindness and compassion. The second candle reminds us to love one another as Jesus taught us. It is also a chance for our students to experience the Love of others in our community. The third candle reminds us of the joy we have in our lives. The season of advent is truly a joyful time at Sacred Heart. The students and staff have many things to be joyful for this season. We are looking forward to hosting our first Christmas concert in our new building on December 21st. This will be a chance for our students to let their light shine and spread joy to all. The students will also experience Christ's love and light through many events that are planned for the month of December. Students will have the opportunity to shop for Christmas presents for family members at our annual Santa Store taking place on December 14th & 15th. These items have all been donated through various organizations throughout Regina. On December 13th and 15th students will receive a special Christmas dinner from our friends at the Double Tree and Chili For Children. We are very blessed to have such great organizations looking after us and helping to spread the love during this advent season. We also experience the spirit of giving through things like, Sask Tel Angels and Giftstone during this advent season. The forth candle reminds us to find peace in our hearts. Be content and cherish the things that are most important to us. During this season of Advent, we hope you experience hope, love, joy and peace in all that you do. From the staff of Sacred Heart we wish your family a Peaceful and Joyous Christmas season.
