It’s incredibly hard to believe that we have arrived at the last week of school before the break! By now many of you have
made the jump with your children into online learning; thank-you for your support with this new experience.
Adopt-a-Family Service Project
Sincere, humble thanks to our families for your support of this project. Between the cash donations and the proceeds from the Candygram sales we were able to earmark $4500 to build hampers for families in need. Not only will our families be able to enjoy a special meal on Christmas Day but they will also have food staples to hopefully last them through the Christmas break. In addition we received donations of 150 gifts to ensure that our families will enjoy that tradition as well. Students in all classrooms contributed to this project in various ways, doing everything from wrapping and sorting presents, decorating the hamper boxes, making their own wrapping paper and making cards for the families. What an authentic demonstration of stewardship- MERCI!
Christmas Break/ Resumption of online learning January 4th

Face-to-face classes are set to resume Monday, January 11th. Please continue to communicate with your child’s classroom teacher about expectations for learning virtually.
Through the hard work of our friends at Allied Printers the school spirit wear order was completed and clothing items were sent home with students on Friday, December 11th. If you asked us to hold your order at the office it may be picked up between 8:00am and 4:00pm Monday to Thursday of this week.
Our next hot lunch (Edo and Booster Juice) will be held on January 22nd with orders being due Friday, January 15th. All orders must be submitted and paid for online at healthyhunger.ca; unfortunately we have no discretion is submitting late orders so please be sure to get your orders in before the due date. Thanks for your support of this program at our school!
Friday, December 18th will be the last day for our interns M. Ettien (Grade 5 Fischer) and Mme Nishnik (Grade 7 St.Onge). These two teachers have contributed immensely to the learning in these classrooms and they have made an impact on our school in their relatively short time in our building. Mme Nishnik will be diving right in to her career as she has accepted a position as a classroom teacher at École St. Elizabeth and M. Ettien will be wrapping up his degree at the U of R. We wish them “bonne chance” as they move on from our community!
While we have people leaving our school we also welcome a new teacher to our staff: M. Karl Baui will be teaching Health and Physical Education in our Grade 6 to Grade 8 classrooms beginning January 4th; bienvenue M. Baui!
The staff of École St. Angela Merici continue to be grateful for your kindness, patience and support as we have navigated a number of challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. The students have gone above and beyond to show respect, responsibility and best effort; we do not take this for granted. Wishing all of our Griffons families health, peace and blessings this holiday season; see you in 2021!
