April 02, 2021

April 20, Regina Catholic Schools announced that remote, virtual learning would extend after Easter until Friday, online learning April 30th (UPDATED).

As per the communication sent by Regina Catholic Schools this morning, April 20th,  online learning will continue until Friday, April 30th.  Face-to-face, in-school classes are set to resume on Monday, May 3rd.  While here at École St. Angela Merici, the staff were disappointed to hear that we would not be seeing the students next week as anticipated, we do support the decision of our school board, our senior administration, and their continued efforts to keep students and staff safe during the pandemic.

School Operations and Learning Schedules
The office will be staffed from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day and teachers will remain available between 8:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m.  Compulsory online sessions will remain as currently scheduled; students are to attend both sessions with their teacher(s).

A reminder that the scheduled lessons are as follows:
               Kindergarten to Grade 2: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.; 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
               Grade 3 to Grade 5: 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.; 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
               Grade 6 to Grade 8: 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Mme Christopherson and Mme Wood will also be offering virtual reading support sessions; communication to students receiving this support will be done by these two teachers.

Learning Package Pickup
We will once again be hosting a paperwork package pick-up Monday, April 26th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and again Tuesday morning, April 27th, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Not all teachers prepare and send home a paper package; classroom teachers will communicate with the families in their class as to whether or not a package will be left for them. Please note that the front door remains locked; once you arrive, we invite you to ring the doorbell and a staff member will greet you and pass along the materials from your child(ren)’s teacher(s).

Parents, we appreciate all your efforts at home in supporting the efforts of our teachers and of course in assisting your child(ren) with their learning.  We are very much looking forward to seeing the kids soon; stay safe everyone!
