 2022-2023 Kindergarten Registration

 Yes, it is almost that time again!  If you or someone who know has a child turning 5 on or before December 31, 2022, and is interested in Catholic, French Immersion education please invite them to submit an application for registration at École St. Angela Merici.  Kindergarten applications for registration will open January 10th.

 Book Fair

 Our school's book fair is running all this week both in our library and online.  Please note that unlike last year online orders will not be mailed directly to your house; rather, a bulk shipment will be sent to the school.  If you ordered items for your child that you intend to hold back until Christmas, please let Mme Grad know so that she can arrange for you to pick up your order from the office; you can contact her at j.grad@rcsd.ca .  All other orders will be sent home with your child.  The students have been very excited to visit the book fair and proceeds from the fair go to purchasing resources for our library.  Thank-you for supporting reading!

 Yarn Donations

 Mme Courchene has an ongoing project in her class where her students learn to crochet as a practical application of math concepts (patterns, relations, addition, subtraction), as a practical arts skill, and as a means to be of service to our community by crocheting toques and headbands for our Christmas hampers.  She and her students are always in need of yarn to support their many projects and to support the interest students have in building their skills.  If you have any yarn at home that you have no use for (any remnants, any colors accepted) or would like to donate yarn please send it to the office with your child.  Thanks in advance for your support of this classroom's initiative.

 Hot Lunch: DQ December 10th

 Our hot lunches have been very popular with our students, and we thank our families for supporting this program which brings in a bit of money to support special initiatives in our school.  The deadline to order for the last hot lunch of 2021 is Friday, December 3rd.  Click here to order a hot lunch.

 École St. Angela Merici Christmas Stewardship Project

 Once again, this year our school will be partnering with another Regina Catholic School to support 15 families with Christmas hampers this holiday season.  Parents, you have never disappointed us in your support for this project and we are grateful!  The project is student-led and offers opportunities for multiple levels of student and family involvement.  How can you help?  This year we have a few ways:

               1: Buy one (or many) candygrams to send to friends or staff in the school.  All students will receive at least one candygram with a personalized message. These will be on sale beginning November 30th and the cost per candygram is $1.00.

               2: Make a cash donation to the project online; tax receipts will be issued for online donations.  You can contribute by clicking on the "Make a donation" link .This will lead you to the SchoolCash website where you can choose to direct your donation to our project (École St Angela Merici Adopt a Family).

               3: Buy an ornament to decorate our rotunda: These will also be on sale at recess beginning November 30th.  Students will have the opportunity to decorate/ personalize the ornament and hang it in the rotunda.

               4: Send in donations of non-perishable food beginning December 6th;

               5: Buy a gift for a member or members of our adopted families.  Please watch for information from your child's teacher coming out later this week as to what types of gifts we will be requiring.

               6: Participate in our Stewardship Week from December 6th to December 10th:

                              Menchies Monday: $3.00 for a frozen yogurt;

                              Taffy Tuesday: $2.00 for a treat bag of taffy and caramels;

                              Willy Wonka Wednesday: $2.00 for a treat bag of wrapped candy;

                              Thirsty Thursday: $3.00 for a Gatorade;

                              Fried Friday: $2.00 for a bag of chips.

Please watch for a more detailed Christmas Stewardship newsletter coming out in the next week.

We look forward to seeing all of you at our student-led conferences this Wednesday and Thursday; a reminder that there is no school Friday, November 26th.

Have a great week!
