Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
Thank you to all who were a part of our student-involved conferences last month. The growth of our students is amplified when we sit with them to reflect on past work, and set goals for the future. Support at home is critical, and we are grateful for your participation.
Welcome to the season of anticipation: Advent. This special time in the liturgical year is particularly important in our schools, as we all wait for the celebration of the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We look forward to many liturgies and Masses, concerts and parties. This is a very joyful time for Catholics.
As you recall from previous communication, the Regina Catholic School Division is part of the Saskatchewan Catholic School Board's fundraising campaign to cover the legal costs of keeping Catholic schools an option for all in Saskatchewan who desire Catholic education for their children. Thank you for your generous consideration of making a financial contribution. To find more information, please visit https://www.catholicedspirit.ca. You can make a donation online, at the Catholic Education Centre at 2160 Cameron Street, or at your neighborhood Catholic school.
The weeks of Advent are always very full. Please consult your school's website calendar regularly to stay up to date. Of particular importance is the Christmas holiday we all look forward to. The last day of school is Friday December 22, and all students will finish school for the day one hour early. The first day back to school after the break is Monday, January 9, 2018.
Please continue to keep Catholic education in your prayers. May the light of Christ be upon you all this Advent season.
"Advent is a time when we journey towards Jesus and his Kingdom of justice and peace."
