Principal's Message…January 2020
Our Catholic Faith:
We will host an Epiphany Celebration this month. Resurrection staff will also stop by on January 6 to bless our doors.
Our School Responsibility Plan:
Each month, as stated in our School Responsibility Plan, we will focus on one virtue to help our students develop a better sense of moral intelligence. This month's virtue is Fairness, and will be presented in daily prayer and a bulletin board display by Mrs. Parisien's grade 5's and Miss Paidel's grade 1/2's. Our "Guardian of the Month" presentations, to the student who best demonstrates that monthly virtue in the classroom and around the school, will be announced at our next Monthly Assembly on Friday, January 31 at 9:00 am in the gym. All of the students who earn a "Guardian of the Month" recognition in the first half of the year will attend an activity/excursion in the afternoon with Mrs. Zenuk and me in February as a "thank you" for showing such positive behavior around St. Gabriel School.
Our Curriculum & Assessment:
The new Parent Portal is live to parents. Please let me know if you need another log in sheet sent home.
The first report card will be sent out at the end of January. In March, we will host a second round of PSTC to review the learning goals set by students. Finally, a report card will be distributed in June.
Our Communication with the Community:
Kindergarten registration will take place on Tuesday, January 14 starting at 8:00 am. Parents of students who will be five years of age by December 31, 2020, are Catholic, and who reside in our catchment area, can call in that day, starting at 8:00 am to begin the registration process. State "Kindergarten registration", your name, and phone number.
Please see the school website for more information.
Our next CSCC meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 14 at 6:30 pm in the library. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Thank you to all the families who attended our Christmas Concert. It was so nice to see so many parents, grandparents and extended families out to support the teachers and students in their performances. It was a great evening. Thank you to Mrs. Rieger, Ms. Weber and Mrs. Zenuk for all their hard work and organization for the concert. Shout out to our amazing helpers from grades 7 and 8, who made the evening even more special with their wonderful performances and backstage support. The show couldn't have gone so smoothly without their effort.
We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday break.
From our St. Gabriel family to yours, a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2020!
School starts back on Monday, January 6, 2020.
