Inquiry-Based Learning

Inquiry-Based Learning is a partnership between the classroom teacher(s) and Teacher Librarian.  It is a guided learning process that provides students with an opportunity build knowledge, ask questions, find resources, interpret information, and report their findings.  By working together we hope to invite students to become more active participants in the learning process and inspire them to apply this principle to their everyday lives.

Areas of collaboration include:
  • finding resources (print or electronic)co-planning and co-teaching
  • supporting the development of information literacy competencies and digital fluency
  • working with small groups of students; one-on-one; or full class instruction
  • developing an appreciation for reading
