Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
October brings us to a month of Thanksgiving.
"You will say in that day:
I will give thanks to you, O Lord,
for though you were angry with me,
your anger turned away,
and you comforted me." Isaiah 12:1
We thank God for all our students, staff, families and school communities. This will be another busy month, and we're grateful for so many blessings as we continue to live and learn during such busy times.
Provincial Education Week is October 20-26. The theme is, "Working & Learning Together." We feel this theme is a strength in Regina Catholic Schools, as exhibited by the many collaborative projects which are benefitting our students, such as our innovative Tinker Tubs in our elementary schools. As always, classroom success is only possible when we work as a team. Our team includes staff, students, parents, and trustees. Thank you for working with us to create a bright future for all our children.
We continue to wait for the results of the Theodore Court Case Appeal. The opencatholiceducation.ca website and SCSBA (Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association) Facebook page are still active, and we very much appreciate all those who share their stories about choosing Catholic education. Submissions may be made through your school, which in turn will be received at the Board Office. Accompanying photos and videos are always welcome.
We are called to be witnesses and messengers of God's mercy, to offer the world light where there is darkness, hope where despair reigns, salvation where sin abounds. ~ Pope Francis
As we celebrate Thanksgiving this month, there are a few holidays for students to keep in mind. There are no classes on Friday, October 4, Monday, October 14, and Friday, October 18. Please enjoy the many blessings of the Lord as you spend time with family and friends on these long weekends.
