Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!

A new year is here, and we welcome 2020 with excitement as we enjoy the Christmas season. Welcome back to school!

"Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened."

Matthew 7:7-8

People often greet a new year with fresh goals, and resolutions to do something better than they did the year before. In our schools, we pray for the same goal for all our students: that they may reach their best potential by learning through the Catholic faith. By searching for God's blessing in all that we do – academics, athletics, extra-curricular, home life, and all our goals and resolutions – we can feel content that God's will is what comes to us. We are blessed by a staff of nearly 1,200 at Regina Catholic Schools who help our students reach out to God through prayer every day.

Please join us in prayer for the success of our high school students as they approach the end of their first semester and their course finalization exams later this month.

We are patiently waiting for the results of the Theodore Court Case Appeal. To learn more about this threat to Catholic education, and find out how you can help defend parental choice, please visit opencatholiceducation.ca. The Saskatchewan Catholic School Boards Association is taking every step available to protect your choice in your family's education.

January is often a cold month, but we expect to stay warm by keeping busy. Monday, January 6 is the day we welcome students back to class. Friday, January 17 is a Teacher Professional Day, so students have the day at home while staff is working on their own learning. High Schools students will have a day off on Thursday, January 30 to wrap up Semester One, and then they start with fresh classes for Semester Two on Friday, January 31.

In closing, we ask for God's blessings on each and everyone for a happy and healthy 2020!
