Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!

We are Regina Catholic Schools. Know, Love, Serve.

This is the final piece of communication you will receive from the current Board of Trustees. On Monday, November 9, 2020, Regina's voters will have their say in our new municipal government, and our new school boards. It is a privilege to serve our community in this way, and all of us are grateful for your support. Three incumbents are running, and with seven available spots, we know no matter what happens we will have a very new group of Trustees ready to serve you. We pray for those running, and for those elected, that they will lead with our division values in mind: accountability, collaboration, honesty, integrity, respect and wellness.

We are frequently amazed by the creativity and intelligence of our students. Despite circumstances none of us had imagined just last year, we are watching incredible growth in our students, and in our staff. We are grateful for the flexibility shown by all our stakeholders while we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Our strategies to mitigate the spread of the virus in our schools are working. While we learned of cases impacting people within our schools, to date there has not been spread within our facilities. For this we are most grateful. We continue to pray for all those who are unwell because of this virus.

With the move to November, we spend some time thinking about those who have gone before us. On All Saints and All Souls Days, we pray for those who have gone to the Kingdom of Heaven, and remember our loved ones who no longer walk the earth with us. On Remembrance Day, we think of all those who serve our country, especially those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We pray for their families and communities who sacrifice to support our forces.

"Blessed be the name of God from age to age,
    for wisdom and power are his.
He changes times and seasons,
    deposes kings and sets up kings;
he gives wisdom to the wise
    and knowledge to those who have understanding. ~Daniel 2:20-21

November has several days of note. There is a day off for students which varies from school to school, the November 11 stat holiday, and a new semester begins for high school students in our "quad" system on Monday, November 16. Thank you for staying up to date with your school and school division.

God Bless,
