Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
We are Regina Catholic Schools. Know, Love, Serve.

"They shall celebrate the fame of your abundant goodness,
and shall sing aloud of your righteousness.
The Lord is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
The Lord is good to all,
and his compassion is over all that he has made." Psalm 145:7-9

As the days become longer, we have plenty to celebrate.

On February 25, 2021, the Supreme Court of Canada dismissed Good Spirit (Public) School Division's application for leave to appeal the Theodore case to the Supreme Court of Canada. This means that the unanimous decision of the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal that overturned the April 2017 trial decision stands. Good Spirit has exhausted their legal options, and the decision of the Appeal Court remains the law in Saskatchewan—which can be considered a victory for both religious and parental rights and freedoms. Background information on the Theodore case can be found at

We are pleased to share news of a new Director of Education coming soon to the Regina Catholic School Division. Our new Director is Sean Chase, who is no stranger to Regina Catholic Schools. He currently serves as the Director of Education at Holy Trinity School Division in Moose Jaw following a long career with Regina Catholic Schools. We are thrilled to welcome him home. At the same time, we are sad to say goodbye to Domenic Scuglia, who will enjoy what we pray is a very long and happy retirement beginning at the end of June. We sincerely appreciate Dom's leadership and commitment to our Regina Catholic School Division for the last five years.

The Holy Rosary Community School Review is complete. On Monday, March 1st, our Board passed a motion to extend the review period to allow for more time to find partnerships which could benefit the school and invigorate the neighbourhood. The school will remain open as we look for new ways to build a stronger school community.

March is a busy month. We have two important dates to keep in mind. Students all have a day off on Friday, March 5 for the Teachers' Convention. Then on Friday, March 12 there is another day off for students while our staff works hard at professional development and staff meetings.

We wish you all a prayerful and meaningful Lenten Season.

God Bless,
