Greetings from the Regina Catholic School Division Board of Trustees!
While September brought us a busy and happy start to the new school year, we now enter the month of Thanksgiving. Yes, it comes with a holiday and a wonderful opportunity to spend time with loved ones. It also provides us with a chance to reflect as a school division on the many gifts for which we are thankful.
First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the world. Romans 1:8
We have much to celebrate and appreciate. The gift of Catholic Education alone is enough to make us sing. We celebrate the accomplishments our schools have already demonstrated this year: Terry Fox Walks/Runs; CSCCs coming together to support school communities; the beginning of athletic, drama, music and choral programs; and each classroom settling into the routine and business of learning. We do all this with our division theme, "Let Your Light Shine."
Another theme we consider this month is that of Provincial Education Week, "A World of Learning for Every Student." We will focus on this theme, and share that spirit with all of Saskatchewan during the week of October 14 – 20.
Please enjoy the month we all associate with turkey and pumpkin pie; and take some time to reflect with thanksgiving, as we will, on the many blessings we share in Regina Catholic Schools. Students will be off school October 4 and 5 for professional development for our staff, and Thanksgiving Monday, October 8 to make a five day long weekend.
Happy Thanksgiving and God bless!
