Tansi, Parents and Guardians!
St. Michael Community School students are very lucky! This year all grades at St. Michael Community School, with the exception of the Pre-K and K, will attend Treaty Four Days in Fort Qu'Appelle on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. Students will be provided with a basic brown-bagged lunch. If they do not like sandwiches, please provide your student with a lunch that does not need to be heated. We will be transported by RCSD – LP3 buses and leave St. Michael Community School at approximately 9:45 AM and return to the school before 3:10 PM dismissal.
Students will be able to have hands on experiences and have a more enriched understanding of First Nation's Culture. Students will participate in many activities offered on the traditional gathering ground of Treaty Four people. After the trip, students will be able to reflect throughout the school year and better understand the true spirit and intent of the original Treaty promise.
Please note the items that students will need for the day:
-Water bottle filled at home that does not leak and has a secure lid. Please fill with water before coming to school. Please test your child's water bottle the night before.
-Sunscreen & Bug Spray to be applied at home before coming to school (do not pack)
-A light jacket in case the weather gets cool.
-Shorts or light pants, Shirt, comfortable walking shoes/runners (no flip flops or dress shoes)
As this will be an out of town field trip. Students who do not have signed permission forms will not be allowed to attend.
