Level Up! at Regina Public Library was created to engage children in active skill building, creative exploration and critical thinking during the summer months, a time of high risk for learning loss.
Level Up! at Regina Public Library is designed to build on the many successful years of summer reading programs. While reading is considered a critical life skill, there are other discovery and learning opportunities that are valuable for kids throughout the summer months. Level Up! at Regina Public Library has the TD Summer Reading Club at its core and includes the following additional summer learning opportunities:
Library Programs: STEAM, Maker, Entertainers, Puppet Show, Films, Storytimes Dunlop Art Passport Community Partners: Royal Saskatchewan Museum, Saskatchewan Science Centre, RCMP Heritage Centre, Government House, MacKenzie Art Gallery, Wascana Centre Visitor Information Kiosk, Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and the Saskatchewan Legislative Building and Grounds.
In Level Up! at Regina Public Library, children record every 15 minutes spent reading, participating in free library programs, completing a Dunlop Art Passport or visiting educational sites like museums or art galleries. Children collect a prize for their first four hours of activity and enter to win prizes for each additional level completed. Children advance up a level for every four hours of activity. Level Up! at Regina Public Library consists of three levels plus a bonus level.
Children can register at any Branch throughout the summer. For more information, visit ReginaLibrary.ca.
