The superintendent is expected to support the mission and objectives of the Regina Roman Catholic Separate School Division No. 81. This senior administrator is a member of the Executive Council and is responsible to provide leadership in the attainment of the mission, vision, and strategic direction of the School Division. In this role, the superintendent is accountable for many aspects of education services, including curriculum and student services. Additionally, the individual in this role is responsible for operational planning, process improvement, human resources, and financial management. Required Duties and Responsibilities:
Without restricting the generality of the above-stated basic function, the Superintendent shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or shared including but not restricted to the following:
Catholic Distinctiveness
Ensure Catholicism is event in her/his work both within and outside of the division.
Be knowledgeable and supportive of Regina Catholic Schools’ policies and expectations.
Permeate our Catholic faith in his/her area.
Foster Christ-like behavior.
Treat all stakeholders as valued people of God. Is fair and understanding, developing relationships to help move people forward.
When applicable attend and participate in faith-building activities.
Conduct oneself in a Christian manner appropriate to an educational institution.
Complete a yearly Catholic Formation goal in the Performance Management Goal Setting document.
Primary Duties
Management:
In collaboration with Education Services Superintendents plan, organize and direct the operations of the Education Services department
Establish a clear vision of what delivery model will be used for the upcoming school year with Catholic Education Centre teaching staff. Share the summary of plans with the senior administrative team
Meet regularly with Catholic Education Centre teaching staff to monitor and update the work they are doing. (Set up a system for dialogue and feedback)
Meet with school-based administrators three times per year to monitor and discuss the School Improvement Plan to ensure he/she is on pace to accomplish the year plans. Provide feedback and direction
Meet with the school-based administrator three times per year to monitor and discuss the Performance Management Goals.
Meet with the school-based administrator three times per year to monitor and discuss the Performance Management Goals being followed with all staff. Administrators will provide an update, seek any necessary input, and share any concerns
Leadership:
Work with senior administration to set and communicate the strategic plan for the upcoming school year as applicable
Support Catholic Education Centre teaching staff and administrators in meeting the goals by providing resources, mentorship, and recommendations. Regular communication and updates are necessary
Lead and represent the RCSD on internal and external committees/advisory groups.
A clear purpose for each committee or group should be established. A return on investment should be conducted in relationship to the time commitment required by School Division
Operations:
Support a cluster of schools within the School Division working with administrators to address school operations and management issues, student and parent concerns and emergent issues after all protocol has been followed
Ensure all schools and departments follow division protocols, administrative
applications and policies
Attend internal and external division events applicable to the current role
Ensure departments and schools oversee the area(s) they are responsible for operating efficiently. Visits, etc. should be related to the role of the superintendent
Job Specifications:
In addition to the Duties and Responsibilities, the Superintendent is expected to have the following requirements:
Confidentiality
At no time should the employee discuss publicly or release information pertaining to students and employees of the Regina Catholic School Division, or any intrinsic information obtained from the said position. Any breach of confidentiality in this regard is a serious violation of acceptable professional conduct.
Education / Experience Level Required
Candidates must meet all professional qualifications as required by appropriate educational legislation and regulations. Hold a Master’s degree in education and be eligible for membership in LEADS. A minimum of three years’ experience as a principal is preferred.

Financial Responsibilities
Coordinate with Business and Finance, on an annual basis, the proposed budget for operational responsibilities including special projects or SA’s
Facilitate, in conjunction with Senior Administration, the assumptions for the annual division personnel budget
Prepare and administer budgets for the Education Services department for which the Superintendent has direct responsibility
Supervision of Staff
The Superintendent directly supervises Coordinators, Consultants, Principals, Executive
Assistants and may supervise some teachers involved in the C2PG process.
Internal / External Contacts
The Superintendent works collegially with all division staff, at both administrative and non- administrative levels, as well as the Ministry of Education, University of Regina, LEADS, and the Saskatchewan School Board Association.

This Code of Conduct applies to all Regina Catholic School Division employees. It is the duty of the supervisor/principal to ensure the Code of Conduct is reviewed annually with each employee. The Regina Catholic School Division requires all employees to follow their contract, conditions of employment and/or professional organization guidelines as set out by the appropriate governing body.
