Passing the Gavel

At the December 9, 2024, public meeting of our Board of Trustees, outgoing Chair Shauna Weninger was recognized with a ceremonial gavel, presented by incoming Chair Ryan Bast as a heartfelt thank-you for her leadership and service. The exchange marked a smooth transition and a moment of appreciation for the work done to guide the division.

STRIVE students from Michael A. Riffel Catholic High School also took the spotlight, sharing news from the Riffel Royals as well as results from a survey of SRCs and grade 9, 10, and 12 students across all high schools. Their presentation gave Trustees another fresh look at student perspectives, showcasing how youth voices are shaping conversations in the division.

More youth voices came through courtesy of our Student Achievement Team. Those are the folks who lead teaching staff through different academic focuses within Regina Catholic Schools. They shared updates on RCSD's “DIPs,” which are Detailed Implementation Plans. We heard from those responsible for the Early Years DIP, and those bringing together progress and data for our Reading, Writing & Math DIP.

The next public board meeting is on Monday, January 6, 2025.
