Please join me in the sign of our faith. In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

While we were home last week on holidays, our church began a new liturgical season on Ash Wednesday - the season of Lent.

Teaching people about Lent can be challenging. Lent does not have to be an unhappy time when we try to give things up, like some of our favorite foods like chocolate and candy or playing video games. Although, those aren’t terrible ideas.

This Lent, instead of giving things up, I’d like to introduce you to a 40 DAY challenge of being GENEROUS. This Lent, let us prepare our hearts and minds for the excitement of Easter. Jesus rose from the dead, which tells us that God can do ANYTHING for us.

Let’s challenge ourselves to be more generous at this important time in history when so many people need our help. Let us pray:

Gracious God, thank you for the gift of today. Thank you for our good health and the opportunity to come to school.

We trust that You can turn the small things we give You into something big that can make a huge difference.

Help us to be generous with everything we have, just as You are so generous in giving us these things. We make all our prayers in Jesus’ Name.

In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
