Please join me in the sign of our faith. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen

Mother Teresa is one of the most inspiring women in the history of our Catholic church. She became a nun and devoted every day of her life to help the poor. She also taught us many things about praying. After her death, she was canonized as a saint because of the miraculous things she did for others. Her official name is now Saint Teresa of Calcutta, but many people, including the Pope, still lovingly refer to her as Mother Teresa.

Mother Teresa begins by explaining exactly what prayer is:

Prayer is simply having a conversation with God. Prayer begins by listening. God speaks in the silence of your hearts, and we speak to God from the fullness of our hearts. I listen; God speaks. I speak, and God listens.                                                                                This listening and speaking to God is what we call prayer.

Mother Teresa’s words remind us that God absolutely listens to us. This Lent, let us try to put her words into practice.  Although our lives are busy, let us make time to be silent each day to pause, and give thanks and praise to our amazing God.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, inspire our hearts to pray more this Lent.
Mother Teresa - pray for us. AMEN

In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
