Today’s short story from Chicken Soup for the Soul is called: 

Don’t Be So QUICK to Judge People

A lovely little girl was holding two apples in both hands.  
Her mom noticed the apples and said, “my sweetie, could you give mom one of your apples please?”

The little girl looked up at her mom for moment, and then she suddenly took a quick bite of one apple, and then a bite of the other.

The little girl’s mom felt the smile on her face freeze. She tried hard not to show her disappointment.

Then the little girl handed one of her bitten apples to her mom, and said: 

Mommy, here you are. I’d like you to have this apple because it is the sweeter one.

No matter who you are, how old or young you are, and how SMART you think you are, don’t be too quick to judge others.  

Give others a chance to explain themselves. What you see may not be the reality. Never jump to conclusions! That is why we should never judge others without understanding them first.

Let us pray,

Lord God, help us to be good listeners and to give others a chance to explain themselves.
Thank you for the gift of today. Keep us safe and help us to make today a GREAT day!
