Friends are like balloons; once you let them go, you might not get them back. Sometimes we get so busy with our own lives and problems that we may not even notice that we’ve let them fly away. Sometimes we are so caught up in who’s right and who’s wrong that we forget what’s right and wrong. Sometimes we just don’t realize what real friendship means until it is too late!

When was the last time you told a good friend of yours how important they are to you?

When did you last phone or text one of your friends and did something really special for them – just because they mean a lot to you?

Today, I would encourage all of you to take a moment out of your busy day to phone a friend and make a plan to spend some time together. 

Some of us have an easier time than others making friends. As Christians, we need to be willing to reach out to others and always be open to new friendships!

Take a look around you as you wander around the school today and be open to making NEW friends. Maybe you could ask someone else you don’t normally hang out with to hang out with you at recess, or join you for a walk after school. Make it a good day for everyone!

Thank you Lord for our friends.  Help us to make time for our friends and to be good listeners.  Help us to be open to new friendships.

Thank you for all the blessings in our lives.  AMEN
