Daily Prayer - November 19
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
Have you ever been lost? It’s probably the scariest feeling in the world!
But when you get found, or realize where you are, and see the familiar face of someone you love, wow! That feels good! SAFE!
Today we listen to a short reading for the Gospel of Luke.
What person among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine and go after the lost one? And when he does find the lost sheep, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy.
Like the sheep in Jesus’ parable, we sometimes wander away from God.
We sin – meaning we hurt others or ourselves. It can be hard to find our way back to God. And to be away from God’s goodness and love really is scary.
But Jesus will do anything to find us and bring us home to him.
He will forgive us – we just have to ask.
And so, we pray,
THANK YOU, God, for loving us no matter what.
Help us to have the desire to want to KNOW you better Lord and spend quiet prayer time with you.
We love you, and we need you, Lord. THANK YOU for never giving up on us.
In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen
