Daily Prayer - November 28
Well we made it to the end of another week and to start off our Friday, we are going to begin with a KNOCK, KNOCK joke. So here we go…..
KNOCK, KNOCK….who’s there….JUSTIN….Justin who?
JUSTIN’ TIME for the WEEKEND….lol.
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen
This Sunday we celebrate “Christ the King” Sunday. The message at church this Sunday will talk about JESUS – OUR KING - who taught us to love one another, forgive one another and to be peacemakers in the world… let’s all continue to do our part at making our school a great place to be, and our world, a better place.
Next week is the First week of Advent.
Whenever we do something important, we don’t just roll in unprepared and expect to have an amazing experience. Most of the time, doing something special means properly preparing for it.
At Christmas, we celebrate something totally amazing: we celebrate the fact that our God loved us enough to come down to earth and live among us. He loved us so much that he had to come and live as one of us and show us what it meant to love and serve one another and to truly believe in him.
That is why our Church gives us ADVENT! It is a way of preparing for Christmas by making sure that we are truly ready to celebrate Jesus at Christmas. We may have some work to do in our hearts, with family and friends so that there isn’t anything stopping us from having our share in the joy that Christmas brings.
Let us pray: Gracious God – grant that we may be faithful to your ways and grow in holiness this Advent. Help us prepare well for the true meaning of Christmas! AMEN
Truth & Reconciliation Prayer
O God, Great Spirit and Creator,
We thank you for your gifts that surround us.
For the gift of the land that gives us food, shelter and water.
For the gift of the sun, moon and stars.
We acknowledge our history and the great injustice to Indigenous peoples.
Help us to forgive one another, as you forgive each of us.
Teach us to respect all cultures.
We pray in the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
