We move into the second week in Advent and focus on our two purple candles that represent HOPE and PEACE. 

The Feast Day of St. Nicholas was celebrated this past weekend. 

St. Nicholas is the patron saint of a few different things, including children and travelers. 

St. Nicholas was a man who loved God with his whole heart and soul.

St. Nicholas gave everything he had to the poor and dedicated his life to serving God. 

As we look at our Advent candles of Hope and Peace, we pray: (pause)

Loving Jesus, teach us to be like St. Nicholas. 
May God’s hope direct us.
May God’s love surround us.
May God’s joy warm us.
And may God’s peace comfort us all the days of our lives. 

We continue our day in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. AMEN
